Ranch Living
Experience an authentic week living and working on a Wyoming cattle and horse ranch. Each day at the ranch is filled with opportunities to work with livestock and use the methods and techniques that are unique to ranches in the American West!
The day to day work is varied and ever changing, depending on the needs of the ranch that day.
Here is an example of what you might expect on an average day:
7:00 AM – Rise & Shine
Wake up to crisp clean air and the scent of fresh coffee. Watch the sunrise over the peaks or enjoy a quiet walk before breakfast.
8:00 AM – Cowboy Breakfast
Join us in the lodge for a ranch-style breakfast — fresh eggs, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, buttered toast, cereal, yogurt and roasted coffee. Fuel up for a day of adventure!
9:00 AM – Morning Work
Catch your horse and saddle up for work and head out ahorseback to get done what needs doing (checking cattle for sickness, roping and doctoring, moving or sorting cattle, riding fence lines, helping the neighbors) or choose to take the morning off (if you’re sore ;) and relax or help around the main headquarters of the ranch.
We get the most important things that need doing done in the mornings if we can.
1:00 PM – Lunch on the Porch or in the Bar
Enjoy a casual lunch featuring ranch favorites — BBQ sandwiches, fresh salads, and homemade desserts, and lemonade or beer if desired.
3:00 PM – Afternoon Adventures
Choose your own adventure:
Trail ride or more cattle work
Roping clinic
Team penning
Colt and Horse training/demonstrations
6:00 PM – Happy Hour & Time To Unwind
Gather at the saloon or outdoor fire pit for cold drinks, lawn games, and western storytelling.
6:30 PM – Ranch Dinner
A family-style meal with classic Western fare — think slow-smoked ribs, all types of beef, potatoes, rice, and dutch-oven cobbler or cake. Dine under the stars, in our dining hall, or at the saloon— depending on the day..
8:00 PM – Evening Entertainment
End the day with:
Live music, cowboy poetry, western dancing or karaoke
Stargazing under Wyoming’s wide-open skies
S’mores around the campfire
10:00 PM – Rest & Recharge
Head back to your cabin or lodge room, lulled to sleep by the sound of wind through the pines and distant coyote calls.

Schedule For The Year
The Ranch is open to guests starting in mid-April until mid-October each year. HOWEVER, if you would like to come outside of this time, it may be possible, especially for groups. Just get into contact with us!
April through June: Calving Season
Mother cows will be giving birth to their calves and we will be checking them daily and helping as needed.
June into July: Branding Season
Instead of branding hundreds of calves all in one day, we will be doing multiple brandings too allow for guests to get a chance to help with this iconic cowboy tradition.
We sort the calves off their mothers, bunch them up, rope them by their back feet, and drag them to the fire where they will be branded as required by Wyoming Law.
We will do this one day per week in the month of June and on into July depending on what our calf crop is looking like.
June to September:
The bulls are back with the cows, eating grass in big pasture. They will need to be checked daily, and gathered and moved from pasture to pasture from time to time.
September to November:
This is the time to start bringing in the cattle closer to home, to precondition the calves, and get them ready to be weaned and shipped.
