THE SCHEDULE

The Ranch is open to guests from mid-April to mid-October each year. HOWEVER, if you wish to visit outside of this period, it is possible, especially for small groups. Contact us! Places are limited!

April to June: calving season the cows will give birth to their calves and we will check on them daily and help them if necessary.

June to July: branding season instead of branding hundreds of calves in one day, we will carry out multiple brandings to give guests the opportunity to participate in this iconic cowboy tradition. We separate the calves from their mothers, group them together, tie their hind legs, and drag them to where they will be branded as required by Wyoming law. We will do this one day a week in June and July, depending on how our offspring are doing.

June through September: the bulls are back with the cows, grazing. They will need to be checked daily, rounded up, and moved from pasture to pasture from time to time.

September to November: this is the time to start bringing the cattle closer to home, to prepare the calves and get them ready for weaning and shipping.

November to March: The day begins with distributing hay to the cattle, a fundamental routine when the pastures are covered in snow and natural forage becomes scarce. Just as important is checking that all livestock have constant access to water, making sure that tanks and troughs don’t freeze. Winter is also the ideal time for focused horse training. At the same time, cutting firewood becomes part of the weekly rhythm. The goal is to keep the animals healthy, comfortable, and well cared for during the most demanding season of the year.

DAYLY ROUTINE

Experience an authentic week as a cowboy. The daily work is dynamic and constantly changing, and the day is structured according to the needs of the ranch.

The alarm clock usually goes off around 7 a.m. If there are no particular demands on your time, you can enjoy a good cup of freshly brewed coffee or a quiet walk. A hearty ranch-style breakfast is served in the lodge, with fresh eggs, biscuits, fruit, and toast. It's important to fuel up for a day of adventure!

You will saddle your horse to carry out the necessary work (checking the cattle in the pastures, taking care of the animals by moving or selecting them, checking the fences, helping neighbors). You can decide to take the morning off and relax or help out at the ranch headquarters. If possible, the most important tasks are done in the morning so that lunch can be eaten around 1 p.m. on the veranda or at the bar. If, on the other hand, prolonged work is required, a packed lunch will be provided.

The day continues with you choosing the adventure you prefer. Horseback riding, working with horses and foals alongside the cowboys, taking roping and/or team penning courses, and even yoga sessions with a view of Devils Tower.

For golden hour, gather in the ranch saloon or around the outdoor fireplace to enjoy cold drinks, relax, play in the meadows, and share stories of western life and community. Dinner is served starting at 6:30 p.m., in keeping with ranch schedules. You will enjoy a convivial meal of classic dishes under the stars in our dining room or saloon. The day will end with some live music, poetry readings, a game of pool, western dancing, or karaoke. Everyone is free to return to their cabin to be lulled by the sound of the wind in the pines and the distant howls of coyotes.
