FAQ

The ranch is located at an altitude of approximately 1250 meters, boasting a continental climate with low humidity.

In winter, temperatures often drop well below freezing, especially at night, and January is generally the coldest month. Snowfall is frequent and the wind contributes to intensifying the feeling of cold. Days are short and humidity is relatively high, typical of cold air. We recommend very warm clothing: heavy jackets, thermal layers, gloves, hats, and waterproof boots. Snow is frequent, so it is useful to have technical clothing or clothing that is resistant to moisture.

With the arrival of spring, the climate gradually changes. March and April bring milder temperatures, although it is not uncommon to still see some residual snowfall. Precipitation increases, especially in May, which is one of the rainiest months of the year. The days grow longer and the snow gives way to the first blooms and awakening pastures. It is a season of transition, as winter slowly gives way to the summer heat. It's the ideal season for dressing in layers: a waterproof jacket, light but warm layers, and shoes suitable for wet terrain are the best option.

Summer is generally hot, bright, and dry. July is the hottest month, with days easily reaching 30 degrees, although nights remain pleasantly cool thanks to the dry air typical of the Great Plains climate. Precipitation decreases compared to spring and humidity drops to its lowest levels of the year. Lightweight, breathable clothing is recommended for daytime wear, along with a hat and sunscreen, but also a sweatshirt or light jacket for the evening.

September marks the beginning of autumn, which brings with it a gradual cooling. Temperatures remain mild during the day but drop rapidly towards the end of the season. Rainfall is moderate and humidity increases slightly compared to summer. The days grow shorter and the woods and hills turn yellow and orange. Towards November, the first snowfalls mark the approach of winter. It is useful to bring mid-layers and warm clothing in anticipation of the first snowfalls.

Overall, the climate reflects the characteristics of the semi-arid regions of the interior of the United States: wide temperature variations, cold and snowy winters, hot but dry summers, and well-defined transitional seasons. It is a climate that shapes daily life and the landscape, offering a variety of scenery and atmospheres throughout the year.
